Summers Day Out in the Worth Valley

Special Summer Weekday Timetable : Operates Monday to Friday 5th July to 3rd September 2010

This summer the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway is running a special timetable, designed to allow you to visit all the Worth Valley area has to offer the visitor.

Our famous steam train service is complimented by a Heritage 'Bus Service, which links the Railway's own attractions with those nearby, as well as providing a scenic tour taking in some of the spectacular local moorland scenery.

Using this timetable, and by purchasing a Day Rover ticket, you can travel on all the trains and heritage buses shown in the timetable below.

  • Why not get off the train at Ingrow, and visit the award-winning Museum of Rail Travel?
  • Continue your journey to Haworth, then catch the bus to the top of the famous cobbled Main Street, which is home to the Bronte Parsonage Museum, and also to many delightful small shops.
  • Walk down Main Street, and take a stroll in Haworth Park before returning to Haworth Station at the bottom of the hill to continue your train journey
  • Or you can re-join the bus service, and continue over the moors to Oxenhope Station. The more energetic can alight en-route at Penistone Hill for a walk and take in the fresh Yorkshire air - or simply remain seated as your vintage bus takes you on a leisurely journey to enjoy the views.
  • On fine weather days, it is expected an Open-Top bus will operate these services.

Our trains are operated by historic carriages built in the 1950's or earlier. They have 'slam' type doors and a step into the train. Therefore, it is not possible for wheelchairs to enter the carriages. However, they can be accommodated in the guard's compartment of every train. Our volunteer staff will give every assistance to you in your journey.

The vintage buses used for this timetable date from the era when buses had steps, narrow doors and were without buggy and wheelchair zones. As a result, visitors with wheelchairs and buggies may find access to the bus service limited. We regret we are unable to convey non-folding bikes, prams, pushchairs etc on the bus service.
