KWVR Membership

For over forty years, the Railway has been owned, operated and managed by the qualified volunteers of the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Preservation Society. Apart from having the opportunity to play an active role in the Railway, members receive many special benefits:

Midland 3F model - 50th Anniversary Special NOW IN STOCK!

To mark the 50th anniversary of the ”Worth Valley Preservation Society Special” on 23rd June 1962, the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway has commissioned a limited edition model (512) of Midland 3F 43586 which was used on this train. The Manningham based loco headed the train which ran from Bradford Forster Square to Keighley and then along the branch to Oxenhope and return. The branch line had closed at the end of the previous year.

This model manufactured by Bachmann is only available from the KWVR and all proceeds go to supporting the railway, helping to ensure the future of heritage rail in the valley.

This 3F has some unique features. It ran with the 'splashers' that were “lined out” for at least a year prior to the society special and until the time of withdrawal. These had been applied by the regular fireman on the loco at that time. The etched attachments supplied with the model represent those carried on the Worth Valley Preservation Society Special.

The package includes a headboard and train reporting number together with an Oxenhope sign as carried on the rear of the tender. It has a works plate on one side only, the other having been removed by persons unknown! The model is now in stock  and priced at £99 + £5 p&p. To Purchase
