Haworth’s famous Keighley & Worth Valley Steam Railway has published a new edition of its best-selling book on the making of ‘The Railway Children’. Its 84 pages are crammed with memories from many of the volunteers and locals who worked on the film and there are over 100 photographs, many previously unpublished.
Included in the new edition is an exclusive interview with Gary Warren who recalls his role as ‘Peter’ and exclusively reveals details of his subsequent career – it will surprise many people.
There are also new features on Dinah Sheridan (learn about her curious souvenir of the film), and Bernard Cribbins (what he said about our Mr. Mitchell on a return visit). We also hear how ‘Daddy My Daddy’ nearly caught the wrong train, and we learn all about the struggle to create the famous landslide scene.
