Shed Tours
On all three days of the event, guided tours of the Locomotive Shed and Workshops at Haworth and of the Carriage & Wagon Works and Sheds at Oxenhope will be available every 90 minutes, to the following timetable:
10 a.m. 11.30 a.m. 1 p.m. 2.30 p.m. 4 p.m.
Although free of specific charge, we would ask participants to consider making a reasonable donation to the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway Trust in return for this rare opportunity to visit these locations. Past experience suggests that most donations so made are in the region of £5 per visitor, although we always welcome more! We do not look for more than one donation per visitor and an acknowledgement will be given for any donations made, so that a further one is not sought a second time, should you choose to visit the other location.
Numbers on these tours have to be restricted so booking is essential for the Haworth Tours. Bookings for these will be made by uniformed staff who will be in the Booking Hall at Haworth from 9.30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. They will also be happy to relieve you of any donation that you may wish to make.
The Oxenhope Tours are usually less busy, but numbers are limited and the tour guide will use his discretion as to whether booking is necessary from tour to tour. People wishing to visit the Oxenhope Carriage & Wagon facilities should assemble in the Exhibition Shed at Oxenhope about 15 minutes before the tour is due to commence.
Heritage Bus Service
A free heritage bus service will operate between Haworth station, Haworth village, Penistine Hill, and Oxenhope station on all three Gala days. This service is entirely separate from the Guided Tour service and no charge is made for its use. The 'bus tour will be accompanied by a guide who will point out places of interest which will set the Railway in the context of the places that it serves; our guide will be only too please to answer your questions. You cannot understand the KWVR unless you are at least aware of the local topography and this free bus tour, besides presenting splendid photographic opportunities, will do just that.
Buses depart HAWORTH STATION
10.15, 11.00, 11.45 (Sat & Sun), 11.50 (Fri), 12.30, 14.00, 14.45, 15.30, 16.16
