We are offering you the opportunity to “Be Mr Perks” and operate Oakworth Station just as he did in the Film “The Railway Children”.

As Mr Perks, you will be able to open and close the crossing gates, operate the railway signals, greet the train as it arrives, welcome the passengers and give the 'tip' to the guard to despatch the train. There is also the possibility of maintaining the coal fires in the station, selling tickets and communicating with the signal box using the block bell system.
Opportunities will normally be available with a two-train service and with two 'turns' per day, either 10am to 1.30, or 1.45pm to 5.15pm. Applicants should be aged 16 or over and in good general health.
If required “Perks” will be loaned a cap, waistcoat and jacket *, but should provide their own black trousers and white shirt – his was collarless – suitable stout shoes and a packed lunch or snack. (* as far as sizes permit)

Bookings MUST be made in advance with the KWVR Office on 01535 645214.
An indication of Trouser & jacket size would help when booking
Cost per Turn will be £35.00 which will include a discounted first years Railway Society membership and free travel on the day (or £25 for existing KWVR Members)
Whilst every effort is made to maintain service, the Company reserves the right to cancel, alter or suspend any train without notice and accepts no liability for any loss or inconvenience thus caused. Some trains may be diesel.
On selected Summer Sundays, you can enjoy a Cream Tea on board our fabulous 1950s Restaurant Car as your train steams gently through Bronte Country. There is no need to book in advance for this service, just purchase your travel tickets on the day and board the Restaurant Car. An additional charge is payable on the train for the Cream Teas.
