PULLMAN DINING AT THE KEIGHLEY AND WORTH VALLEY RAILWAY 2013
Selected Saturdays & Sundays throughout 2013
Elegance, Quality and Style. . .
...a journey aboard ‘The White Rose Pullman’ and ‘The West Riding Limited’.
Whether it’s a birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion or you just simply want to treat yourself, The White Rose Pullman and The West Riding Limited offer a unique and unforgettable dining experience that you can enjoy with family and friends.
These trains operate throughout the year on selected Saturdays and Sundays using our superbly restored, original 1930s Pullman Carriages ‘Ann’ and ‘Mary’ and the exclusive ‘Jubilee Bar’ lounge/dining car.
...the Pullman Car Company was formed in 1882 and named after the Pullman concept pioneered in the United States by the American railroader George Pullman. The company entered into contracts with the railway companies to operate Pullman services over their lines.
The introduction of Pullman Cars to Great Britain heralded an era of luxury travel for railway passengers, epitomised by famous trains such as the ‘Golden Arrow’, ‘Tees Tyne Pullman’ and the ‘Brighton Belle’.
Pullman trains offered more luxurious accommodation than ordinary mainline trains and customers were treated to an outstanding level of service on board. The immaculate Umber and Cream colored carriages were a sight to behold and Pullman was the only way to travel.
The Keighley and Worth Valley Railways’ own ‘White Rose Pullman’ and ‘West Riding Limited’ dining services have been operating in the finest traditions of the Pullman Car Company and recreating the luxury travel of days gone by for over twenty five years.
Your table awaits... ...fresh flowers, starched linen, and glittering glassware greet you as you board the train. Take your seats and savour the atmosphere as you enjoy a drink from our wide selection at the onboard bar, including fine wines, hand pulled beers and soft drinks.
Sit back and relax in your sumptuous seat as you experience a leisurely steam hauled journey, with stunning Bronte Country scenery slipping past your picture window, whilst enjoying a fabulous, freshly prepared meal.
Excite your taste buds... ...a delicious four course Sunday luncheon or six course Saturday evening dinner is served on board. Each train features a different table d’hôte menu created by our team of chefs, freshly prepared and cooked on board, using the finest seasonal produce.
Our menus include something for everyone. We use only locally produced meats and our vegetarian choices are so interesting that some 'meat eaters' often try them. Guests with special dietary requirements can usually be accommodated with advanced notice and we are always happy to discuss individual requirements.
Due to the limited space in our on train Kitchen Car and to ensure that we provide the highest level of quality, the menu for your selected train will be sent to you in advance. We request that your selections for each course should be advised no later than seven days prior to the departure date.
